Hi! This morning we woke up somewhere in North Dakota. It was white. It was flat.
Our arrival in Minot was delayed a bit by the weather and train. I woke up around 7:30 which gave me plenty of time to take in the morning. We had a few stops to make before Minot, one of which was in Rugby. Did you know: Rugby, ND is the geographical center of North America? Well now you do :)
Once in Minot, we were greeted by a nice gentleman named Gene and his wife. They helped us get loaded in their two vans and we were on our way to First Assembly Church in Minot.
We were served an amazing brunch--including homemade doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, and... COFFEE :) We also had the chance to meet with our host families that would be opening their homes to us (two of us to a family).
Food in our tummies, it was time to work. The church here is going to be hosting an Easter outreach event/play and had a lot to do to set up. Well, tonight they don't have as much to do! We helped move props from storage to the church and set up the stage. It didn't seem like much, but many hands make light work and they were very appreciative!
After we finished at the church we were picked up by our host families and had a chance to go "home" to relax, unwind, and eat.
Me and Molly are together with an amazing family, Adam and Tara. They also have two daughters, ages 2 and almost 1. It was fun hanging out with them this afternoon--we ate pizza, played with Leighton, and watched 'Extreme Couponers!'
At 3pm we were all back at the church. We had the opportunity to go to the local Y for some exercise and fun. Even though our time there was cut short due to vehicle troubles, it was a fun time and helped us to learn to go with the flow. This is when the Snickers were opened. No one was hangry, but hunger overall had set in after our busy afternoon.
We drove straight to Pizza Ranch for dinner this evening, where were joined by some Minot friends :)
After eating some very good pizza, we headed back to the church again to speak at The Well. We each had the privilege to speak for 3-5 minutes and everyone did good--even Ethan stayed in the time limit :). Usually there is extended worship but due to the low attendance this week, we watched an AMAZING movie called, "Father of Lights."
Now we are headed back to our host families for the night. Take showers. And sleep.
Tomorrow we (are scheduled to) head out at 9:06am to Whitefish. Our stint on the train will be 12 hours for this part of our journey. I'm excited to see the mountains especially because we will be traveling during the day.
Side note: I'm still trying to learn my camera but am doing my best to take done good pictures. I am fully embracing the title of "Mom" this week :)
Also, tomorrow we will be switching to mountain time, so one hour behind y'all in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
